Anthony C. Ottati, 55, of County Highway 107, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at home.
Born in Amsterdam on October 12, 1961, he was the son of Vito and Patricia Pecelonis Ottati.
Anthony received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. He received his Associates Degree in Business from Fulton Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY, and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. He also graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Anthony was employed as a social worker at Lexington Rehabilitation Services in Gloversville, NY; until he himself came down with his own disability.
Anthony loved animals, being outside, and was an avid gardener, who enjoyed growing all kinds of flowers and vegetables.
Anthony is survived by his parents, Vito and Patricia Ottati, one sister Michele Donnelly (Michael) of Huntington NY; one nephew, Brian Donnelly of Huntington, NY, one aunt, Sophie Picciocca, uncles, James “Jerry” Ottati and Dr. Daniel Greco all of Amsterdam, NY. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; followed at 10:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated by Fr. Jun Segura at 10:00 a.m. at St Joseph’s Church, 7 North Street, Broadalbin, NY.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
