Anthony F. Biscotti
Anthony Biscotti, 89, passed away peacefully at the River Ridge Living Center on November 6, 2022, following a brief illness.
Born on September 11, 1933, the son of the late Anthony J. and Rose Scheckton Biscotti, he lived at the family home on Pulaski Street for more than eight decades before becoming a resident of The Sentinel of Amsterdam several years ago.
Anthony graduated from Wilber H. Lynch High School in 1951, attended the Art Institute of Minnesota¸ and worked as a self-employed artist throughout his adult life, specializing in unique and intricate crow quill pen and ink renderings of nature subjects. His “The American Bald Eagle '' was featured on the Noteworthy Company’s nationally distributed 1973 calendar.
In 1977, Mr. Biscotti married the late Doris Doubleday Pawloski, who passed away in 1997. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Joseph A. Biscotti, and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery,
Amsterdam, NY under the direction of the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 and with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, E.V. officiating.
Donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to the Montgomery County Office for Aging, Inc., the Amsterdam Free Library, or the Walter Elwood Museum, where a collection of his recent work will join that of other noted Amsterdam artists on permanent display.
