Born to Edmund and Loretta (Scott) Demars in 1935, she resided most of her life in Amsterdam, New York.

She worked at St. Mary’s Institute and then Bishop Scully High School aligning her work schedule to accommodate caring for the family she so loved. Later she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and retired from there.

Upon retirement, she moved to West Chester, Pennsylvania to be near her daughter, son-in-law and beloved grandchildren. She continued working, first in a leasing apartment office, and then at a stylish boutique.

In 2006, she moved to Shawnee, Kansas when her family made a job transfer to that location. She worked at Good Shepherd Catholic School, and volunteered for many years with the food kitchen ministry. She loved all the places she lived, and her lifelong love of people brought her the gift of many friendships.

Her greatest joy was being able to spend time with her grandchildren, Ryan and Erin. They had overnights, food feasts, pool parties, played basketball, ate ice cream and shopped the dollar stores. She will be dearly missed.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Joseph and William Demars, her husband, William H. Chambers and her son, Scott W. Chambers.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra C. Smith and husband, Bruce of Shawnee, Kansas, grandson, Ryan S. Smith and his wife, Kily of Independence, Missouri, and granddaughter, Erin E. Smith of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
