Andrew "Andy" Renda, 66, of Fort Hunter, NY., passed away Saturday January 1, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY
.
Born in Gloversville, NY., on November 24, 1944, he was a son of the late Andrew Renda Sr., who passed away in 1984 and Marguerite Moscato Renda who survives of Gloversville, NY.

Andy was a graduate of Gloversville High School.

Andy was employed at Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam as shipping and receiving supervisor, retiring in 2005

Andy was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam.

Along with his mother, Andy is survived by his wife, Barbara Cherico Renda to whom he was married on November 27, 2004, one son, Neil Renda of Fort Hunter, NY; one daughter, Christine Pierce (Charles) of Eastham, MA; three brothers, Charles Renda and his fiance, Suzanne of Galway, NY; Robert Renda of Gloversville, NY; and David Renda and his girlfriend, Linda of Gloversville, NY; four grandchildren, Charles, Caroline, Conall and Cecile Pierce all of Eastham, MA; one step daughter, Shannon Leggiero of Staten Island, NY; one stepson, James Leggiero of NV; two step grandaughters, Lexi "Moochie" and Jenessa Leggiero both of Staten Island, NY; his mother-in-law Fredolyn Cheric0 and his former wife Karen Strevy. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; followed at 9:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY. 12010.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the mortuary.
