Agnes S. Lomnicki of Hillcrest Spring Adult Home, passed away Tuesday afternoon January 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Watrobski Knapik.

Agnes received her elementary education at St. Stanislaus School and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School, Class of 1946.
.
Agnes was employed as a Senior Statistics Clerk for New York State in Albany.
Agnes was a parishioner and communicant of St. Stanislaus Church and formerly St. John the Baptist Church. She was also a member of St Stanislaus Church Rosary Society.
Her husband Stanley S. Lomnicki, to whom she was married on May 21, 1949, passed away on June 1, 2007. Agnes is survived by one son, Victor Lomnicki of Oak Ridge, TN; one daughter, Theresa Melervey of Coplay, PA; her brother, Edward “EJ” Knapik of Glenville, NY; one sister, Justina Kulbako of Schenectady, NY; four grandchildren, Kerin Steigerwalt (Brad), twin grandsons, Robert Melervey and Steven Melervey and Elizabeth Melervey, one niece, four nephews, several great nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law Regina and Virginia Lomnicki.
Agnes was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Brian Melervey, her niece, Diane Lomnicki Leszczynski and a nephew, Bruce Lomnicki.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 8:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY followed at 9:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church, 50 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY.
Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Amsterdam.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 at the Riley Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Agnes’s’ name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105-1905 or to St. Stanislaus Church 50 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
