Francis E. "Frank" DiCaprio Jr., 66, of Austin Street, Amsterdam, NY; died Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 29, 1955, he was the son of the late Francis E. "Buddy" Di Caprio Sr. and Wanda J. Lucas DiCaprio who survives.
Frank received his elementary education at St. Mary's Institute and graduated in 1974 from Bishop Scully High School, both in Amsterdam.
Frank retired from General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY, where he worked on the generator final assembly line and other positions.
He was the Northeast Chapter Director for the New York State Snowmobile Association, he received his green belt in karate and held a Class a CDL license and drove for various companies in the Capital District. Frank was an avid snowmobile and motorcycle rider dog lover and Zumba Dancer.
Along with his mother, Frank is survived by his wife, Rosa Martinez DiCaprio at home, one son, Francis Troy DiCaprio of Ballston Spa, NY; two daughters, Ninochka DiCaprio of Albany, NY and Krystal DiCaprio of Amsterdam and one brother, Thomas DiCaprio (Diane) of Hagaman, NY. Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Calling hours are Wednesday March 16, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc.110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, March 17, 2022 at 10:15 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., followed at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Fr. Juanito Asprec officiating.
Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
