Carmel J. “Carm” Greco, 94, of Arnold Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday August 21, 2020 at Wilkinson RHCF in Amsterdam.

Born on July 14, 1926 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Joseph and Theresa Martuscello Greco.
He received his education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He also received his plumbing license from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.
Carm was an honorably discharged United States Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a Machinist Mate Third Class from 1944 to 1946.
He was the retired owner of B & G Plumbing in Amsterdam.
Carm was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam.
On August 6, 1950, he was united in marriage to Josephine Fratianni Greco who survives and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Carm is survived by one son, Joseph Greco of Delray Beach, FL; one sister, Sophie Sardonia, one brother, Luigi Greco, four grandchildren, Danielle DiBiasi, Betsey Greco, Samantha Sgroi and Mellissa Sgroi and one great granddaughter, Madelyn DiBiasi. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Carm was also predeceased by his daughter, Julie Greco Sgroi on July 18, 2012.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family, Wednesday August 26, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until prior to the mass, which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche, M.S. officiating. Face coverings and social distancing are required.
Inurnment will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
