Carmela Ruggeri, 97, formerly of Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday evening April 5, 2019 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Amsterdam on August 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Bardascini Ricci.
Carmella received her education in the Amsterdam school system.
She retired from Montco Manufacturing Company in Amsterdam.
Carmella was a former parishioner and communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Amsterdam.
She was married to Anthony Ruggeri January 9, 1944. He passed away August 20, 1991.
Carmella is survived by one sister, Louise Ricci Muscato and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two sisters, Pamela Hazzard and infant sister, Louise Ricci, two brothers, Dominick Richards and Augustine Ricci.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:45 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, followed at 11:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. Lawrence Decker officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Riley Mortuary from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service.
Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
